The Damian Krysan and Xiaorong Lin Endowed Lecture

The Marine Biological Laboratory's (MBL) Molecular Mycology Course, celebrating its 29th year in 2025, proudly announces a campaign to raise $25,000 to establish the Damian Krysan and Xiaorong Lin Endowed Lecture. This annual lecture will become an integral part of the course, honoring the legacy of two visionary leaders in the field of medical mycology.

Damian Krysan, MD, PhD, the Samuel J. Fomon Chair in Pediatric Pulmonary, Allergy, and Infectious Diseases at the Carver College of Medicine, and Xiaorong Lin, PhD, the Gene E. Michaels Distinguished Professor in Medical Mycology at the University of Georgia, served as the third generation of course directors for MBL’s Molecular Mycology Course. Together, they brought diverse scientific expertise and a shared commitment to fostering an environment where students could explore multidisciplinary approaches to medical mycology while engaging with leading researchers who share their expansive view of the field.
