1.0 Policy Statement:
The Marine Biological Laboratory respects the obligation of all citizens to serve on juries, both in the federal and the state courts. This policy is to outline the rights and obligations of employees when a summons to serve on a jury is received.

2.0 Eligibility:
All employees, full-time, part-time, temporary and casual.

3.0 Notification:
Employees must submit a request for jury duty leave at the time notice is received from the court. A copy of the official notice must accompany the request.

4.0 Compensation:
Employees will be granted jury duty leave with no loss in regular wages. When court fees are paid to the employee the amount of payment for jury service must be forwarded to payroll to be credited to the payroll account.
