Dear Colleagues,
The 2008 Molecular Parasitology Meeting will be held Sunday, September 21th Thursday, September 25th at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, MA (USA).
This meeting covers all aspects of parasite molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, genetics and genomics, focusing on protozoan parasites. Presentations (talks and posters) by graduate students and post-docs are strongly encouraged..
PLEASE NOTE: that there has been an administrative change to the registration process. This year payment will be required at the time of registration, and you must register before submission of abstracts. In addition, all applications will be accepted at the time of registration and an electronic "certificate of acceptance" will be generated at that time. The meeting will be capped at a maximum of 480 and participants will be accepted in the order of registration. SO PLEASE PLAN ACCORDINGLY!

Selected Details:
- Meeting will start at 7:00 p.m. preceded by an afternoon mixer and dinner.
- There will be one plenary session on the first day, the evening of Sunday, September 16th.
- Wednesday evening will feature a keynote address from a prominent parasitologist (it's a secret), followed by the traditional New England lobster boil.
- The meeting will end at midday on Thursday September 25th
- You may continue to revise your abstract up until the submission deadline.
- If needed, accommodations at the MBL for Saturday night (September 20th) must be reserved IN ADVANCE. The availability for this accommodation will be strictly limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. The cost is $46.00 on a double occupancy basis (meals NOT included).
- Web-based presentations option (poster presentation with live net hook-up)
- Submit PowerPoint presentations prior to start of the meeting via FTP as per web instructions.
As in previous years abstracts will be divided into three poster sessions (A through C). However, individual posters will only be up for viewing for one 24-hour period, and must be staffed by the presenting author during the corresponding afternoon poster session.
- Each evening plenary session will begin with a 30-minute presentation from a speaker invited by the organizing committee. This year's speakers will be Patricia Johnson (UCLA), Kiaran Kirk (Monash U.), and Kip Guy (St. Jude Children's Research Hospital).
