The ommatidia is shaped like a vase. At the top is a cup-shaped space. Covering this is the cornea, which is part of the exoskeleton. It is translucent and forms a lens which directs light into the central interior of the cup.ht is intensified, the frequency of the discharge of the nerve impulses increases.
